博通或（分拆or出售）：VMware 终端用户计算、Carbon Black 业务

近日，博通首席执行官陈福阳告诉员工，在收购云软件公司VMware之后，他正在评估其两个业务部门的战略性选择。

博通在11月22日完成了这笔涉资690亿美元的交易。

据陈福阳最近发给员工们的一封电子邮件显示，他正在为VMware的终端用户计算和Carbon Black两个部门考虑战略性选择。

《商业内幕》杂志看到了这封邮件的内容。

这位首席执行官补充道，博通将在评估期间继续支持这两个业务部门。

据一名不愿透露姓名的员工声称，陈福阳之前在员工大会上向员工们透露了这一计划。

电子邮件还显示，在交易过渡期间，VMware首席执行官Raghu Raghuram将出任陈福阳的技术顾问。

展望未来，VMware将分以下四个部门来运营：

•VMware Cloud Foundation部门由高级副总裁Krish Prasad领导。

•Tanzu云应用部门由副总裁Purnima Padmanabhan领导。

•软件定义边缘部门由副总裁Sanjay Uppal领导。

•应用网络和安全部门由副总裁Umesh Mahajan领导。

VMware员工此前告诉《商业内幕》杂志网，他们认为博通将分拆或出售终端用户计算业务和Carbon Black网络安全部门。

博通之前在收购之后曾采取了类似的措施。

在2018年斥资189亿美元收购冠群科技之后，博通将冠群科技的Veracode产品出售给了私募股权公司Thoma Bravo。在2019年以107亿美元收购网络安全巨头赛门铁克之后，博通将赛门铁克的网络安全服务业务出售给了埃森哲，将企业咨询团队出售给了HCL Technologies。

在最近这宗收购完成之后，博通解雇了VMware的员工。《商业内幕》杂志率先报道称，受影响的员工已于周一得到通知。在收购完成之前，VMware就已经开始裁员了。

•       Tanzu (TNZ), led by Purnima Padmanabhan, VP and General Manager;

•       Software-Defined Edge (SDE), led by Sanjay Uppal, VP and General Manager; and

•       Application Networking and Security (ANS), led by Umesh Mahajan, VP and General Manager.

We will also continue to support VMware's End-User Computing, led by Shankar Iyer, VP and General Manager, and Carbon Black, led by Jason Rolleston, VP and General Manager, as we review strategic alternatives for these two businesses.

Additionally, Raghu Raghuram will be serving as a Technical Advisor to me to assist with the transition.
