——————————————————————

1.When did you get to know blockchain and when were you engaged in blockchain? How did it attract your attention in your opinion?

I noticed in early 2013 that Bitcoin was a little different from most innovations that were around. My interest in blockchain went deeper in early 2014 when working within Financial Services. It was very apparent that the world was about to be introduced to a technology that would significantly disrupt broker models, with financial services being top of the list.

2.What revolutionary changes do you think will be brought to British society in your opinions? what kind of measures, do you think, British government should introduce in order to encourage the development of blockchain?

Put simply, the British government needs to quickly adopt a proactive stance to support the use of the technology. It needs to support the start-ups that have set out to enhance the lives of British citizens and U.K. organisations who so badly need a boost in productivity through innovative platforms. At present, we see a great deal of scepticism by government agencies on the use of the technology and, whilst this is happening, start-ups who are supported by their proactive overseas governments are gaining advantage. The U.K. will lose out on the economic advantage being capitalised upon by other countries who are supporting the tech unless there is a significant change in mindset towards the adoption of blockchain technology.

3.There is a fact that people will only use Curriculum Vitae that are encrypted by APPII when they are looking for jobs and after having a job, they may not use APPII. How would you solve the problem, increasing your customer stickiness?

APPII is more than just a platform for people creating and verifying their curriculum vitae. Our user base will be able to use their verified profile for a wide variety of other means. For example, given that we ask members biometrically verify their identity, they will be able to use their profile to gain entry to buildings, participate in events, register with other companies and services providers and much, much more. A verified career history is only but the beginning of a wide range of extended services that APPII will be providing.

4.Giant in recruiting sector, LinkedIn, for example, has been sold to Microsoft. If this means that recruiting website will eventually amalgamate with Giant? May I have your opinion about the mergers and acquisition in recruiting sector in recent years?

I think that there are too many services providers in the industry which causes confusion for job seekers and employers. It is inevitable that significant aggregation will happen with uber platforms such as Facebook, Google, etc. broaden their recruitment offerings. I can only see this accelerating in the upcoming years, and I don’t believe that the industry is prepared for this.

5.Can you tell us what was the biggest problem when you found APPII? How did you solve that problem?

Most of our users are looking for a desired outcome (verification) and don’t particularly care that we’re using blockchain to provide that outcome. Blockchain is an intrinsic part of delivering the outcome our users want but we needed to shield them from the underlying complexity of the technology. The technology (in 2015/2016) was still relatively new, with performance and usability issues that we needed to overcome. We spent a great deal of time determining how to make the user unaware that blockchain was being used. Resolution came with good user experience design and user testing (many iterations).

6.Please introduce your current venture, APPII. What problems, do you think, are in recruiting sector now? Why did you found APPII?

There are far too many barriers that sit between those looking for work and those seeking to hire talent. We founded APPII to make the lives of job seekers and employers easier.

Performing background checks on prospective employees is costly, takes time and involves wasted effort. Background checks can take up to 8 weeks in certain industries, costing, on average, £100, and checks are unnecessarily repeated even though previous employers have undertaken the same checks.

Employers and job seekers are unnecessarily put at disadvantage.

APPII assists job seekers pre-verify their career history and easily capture the participation in lifelong learning. Employers can request job candidates to perform background checks easily and quickly through the APPII mobile app. Utilising blockchain technology ensures that any verification of career history is only undertaken once. Job seekers can reuse captured and verified information in subsequent background checks diminishing the time and effort for both them and employers.

7.Can you tell us why did you name your project "APPII"?

A simple translation of APPII in Latin is ‘Farsighted’. We wanted to help job seekers and employers

see beyond the current horizon, to assist them in identifying opportunities that are further in the future and more than often hidden from them.

8.We learned that APPII has been developing for 2 years.  Can you tell us what are the latest developments in the past 2 years. What are your strategic and business plan? Do you have any promotion plan of APPII?

APPII recently launched a service for employers to seek information from job seekers. Employers can ask job seekers to verify such things as their identity, their right to work in a given jurisdiction, to determine whether they have any criminal convictions etc. None of these services are visible to users unless they are engaged by an employer that is using APPII.

9.APPII is a is an online verification, career management, and recruitment platform. What is the profit model of APPII?

Employers pay to view verified information regarding job seekers

10.We learned that there are many competitors in the world such as CV proof, Aworker and Curriculum Vitae Chain. Compared with your competitors, what are your advantages?

We are much more than a CV verifier, and see CV verification as just the first step in assisting individuals and organisations achieve their ambitions quickly and cheaply.

11.The applicants' personal information will be verified by APPII, how can APPII reduce the risks of applicants' personal information disclosure?

APPII has put significant effort into ensuring that our Platform is protected from malicious action and data leakage. From a blockchain perspective we’ve deployed some robust measures to ensure that the user is in complete control as to who can, view, access and read their information.

12.How can APPII avoid" garbage in and garbage out" when verifying the information?

We try to automate data information capture and verification as much as we can. We start by ensuring that people are who they say they are through biometric identity verification. Then, all verified data requires both the registered member and biometrically verified representative of a company to concur on what is being written and verified.

13.Have you invested cryptocurrency? What aspects are you going to choose a cryptocurrency?

Yes, I bought cryptocurrency back in the day, I was being inquisitive really. The only reason I’d buy a lot of cryptocurrency is for utility, and widespread utility at that. Gated utility seems somewhat counter intuitive. I believe that there is a lot more change required within the cryptocurrency ecosystem before we have non-gated utility.

14.May I have your opinion about the blockchain without token? How should we understand the token in blockchain ecosystem? Why does not APPII have its own token?

As above, a gated utility token seems counter intuitive to me. There needs to be utility outside the gated platform/community before it makes real sense and before the token will gain widespread adoption. I’m waiting for banks to deploy merchant terminals that are able to accept digital assets (not necessarily crypto) as a method of exchange of value. When we see this happening I believe we’ll see a rapid rise in the use of tokens in normal commercial settings.

APPII has looked deeply at the use of tokens, but mainly for the use of participant rewards. We have a few things up our sleeve regarding tokens that we’ll reveal when we believe that it’s the right time to.

15.What’s your opinions towards global blockchain ecosystem in the next few years?

I don’t think we’ll see this in the next few years. Blockchain technology has application for certain digital processes and activities, but not all digital processes and activities. The likes of APPII will certainly be leading the charge, but it needs to be less about the use of the tech and more about the material benefits that the technology can provide. Most people don’t care about the underpinnings of a technology and care more about whether a technology makes their lives simpler.

16.Please tell us about your opinion about the future of decentralization.

A large question for another day perhaps. Let me just say that it is happening now, I hope that decentralisation accelerates, and that widespread decentralization, when it occurs, is not obvious to most people.
